What's new in FlyWheel — August 2026 (Week 2)
Two Google Ads levers that used to mean opening the Ads UI, and a way to put money behind posts you’ve already published.
Turn a post you’ve already published into an ad
You can now ask your agent to find a post on your Facebook Page or your linked Instagram account and run it as an ad. Search by keyword or by date, or paste the link to the post you mean.
The reason to do this rather than build a fresh ad is that the boosted version keeps the likes, comments and shares the original already earned. A post with fifty comments is a different ad from an identical one with none.
Two things worth knowing. Your tracking parameters are checked before it goes live, because a boosted post’s links can’t be edited afterwards. And some Facebook and Instagram share links don’t identify which post they point at. Paste one of those and you’ll get told why it can’t be used, rather than having it guessed at and the wrong post promoted.
Set a Max CPC on a single keyword
Your agent can now read the keywords in an ad group and set a maximum bid on any one of them. Until now the only bid it could move was the ad group’s, which changes every keyword at once. That’s the wrong instrument when one keyword is worth more to you than its neighbours.
Keyword-level stats came along with it, so you can find the keyword worth acting on rather than guessing at which one it is.
Two guards, because both failure modes look like success. A bid larger than the campaign’s daily budget is refused, since that’s almost always a typo rather than an intention. And if the campaign uses smart bidding, Google ignores keyword bids entirely, so you get told that before the bid quietly does nothing. Which bidding strategy you’re on decides whether any of this is worth doing, so start there if you’re not sure.
Adjust or switch off bidding by device
Device was the last campaign setting with no way to read or change it, so every mobile-versus-desktop decision meant a round trip to the Ads UI. Your agent can now see the current adjustments and change them, at campaign or ad group level, including switching a device off completely.
It will refuse to exclude the last device still running, which would stop the campaign serving to anyone. It also says plainly that excluding mobile on Google Search takes iPhones with it, since Search has no way to split by operating system. If what you want is iOS-only delivery, that still belongs on Meta.
Smaller things
- Connecting Reddit no longer waits on an access application. Reddit’s ads API is open, so you can connect and start reading straight away.
- Connecting Google Ads works from any Google account. It was blocked for accounts outside our own organisation, which was as bad as it sounds.
- Keyword bid errors now come back with Google’s actual reason attached instead of a generic failure.
Next up is more Google Ads depth in the same direction: the settings that currently make you leave your agent and open a browser.
Bidding one keyword at a time is a good job for an agent, as long as you can see what it changed. FlyWheel gives your AI agent one MCP surface across Reddit, Google Ads, Meta, and X, with every tool call logged with args, status, latency and actor, and new campaigns shipped paused by default.
